Later, after changing clothes, Miguel retrieves a reawakened Dana and together they head for Gabe's place. There they find that Gabe is still jacked into cyberspace. Not knowing the state of Gabe's archetype, Miguel decides to jack in to find his brother. In cyberspace, Miguel catches sight of his "sig trail" and follows it to the remains of Gabe's car. Title: Crash and Burn

Writer: Peter David

Summary:

While puzzled by Miguel's entrance into cyberspace, Discord nevertheless offers him a chance to be his side-kick. The alternative is death. Miguel chooses to play along after a ghostly vision of Gabe tells him to "pull the plug." With no other option, Miguel follows Discord on a tour of cyberspace. Their first stop is a cybernet information center. Discord gloats about having locked everyone out of cyberspace and proceeds to recount how several years ago he was behind the Domino Crash incident. His plans were thwarted by Firelight and a few other banktanks. His current design, to destroy cyberspace, is because his predictions show that the world will end in 2112. Miguel sees Gabe again and makes a run for it. Discord pursues him but is too late. Sighting the plug which Gabe was referring to, Miguel pulls it and unleashes a bit stream which puts a stop to Discord's plan. Now released, Gabe appears and literally blows Discord to bits. Gabe and Miguel drive off together and Gabe reveals that he knows Miguel's secret identity as Spider-Man.
